On several occassions, I have called the Mayor's Hotline to report an issue. After leaving my name and telephone number with my message, I have not received a confirmation or a courtesy return telephone call.

Is the Hotline monitored by someone? Are the issues, concerns, etc. passed to the appropriate people/departments who may be able to rectify these issues, conerns, etc.?

The traffic lights at the entrance to Interstate 91N and Pomeroy Avenue need to be better coordinated. When the light at the intersection of I-91 turns green and traffic begins to move, the light at Pomeroy Avenue turns red. You can imagine the havoc this creates, not to mention the people running the red light, during the morning commute.

Gravel Street Meriden, CT - Meriden

I have complained numerous times to our police department, city councilors and mayor's hotline about the speeding cars on Gravel Street and have yet to see radar or an increased police presence. On a dialy basis, someone is following me too closely that when I try to turn into my own driveway (yes, I use my turn signal) they have to either slam on their brakes or pull onto the sidewalk to avoid hitting my car.

With the amount of school children walking in this area, one would think this issue would be taken a bit more seriously. Is the city waiting for someone to be killed before something is done to control the speeding?
